What is a Cuara?

You will often hear Panamanians using the term “Cuara”. For example a taxi driver might say:

Un cuara mas.

A “cuara” (pronounced “quah-da”) is a 25 cent coin or quarter.

Cuara is a deformation of the english word "quarter" (of a dollar).
