Are there Internet Cafe's in Panama?
March 15, 2004Your average Panamanian citizen probably has access to better internet access than your average American. Internet cafe’s are everywhere and are available with high speed broad band access for around 50 cents an hour.
There is a lot of competition between them, the more successful ones have web cams and other cool gadgets.
As they are just about everywhere you wont have to look long to find one, but if you want to know where the best are just go to Via Venetto. The stretch between McDonalds and Manolos have some of the very best.

Yes, they are everywhere.
Not only in the busiest places of the capital, but also on the suburbs, and on the provinces. For example, Isla Colon, a small town that is the capital city of Bocas del Toro, a place very similar to the paradise, has a couple of very nice Internet Cafe's.
There are some big business, like supermarket chains, that have Internet Cafe's inside of them (browse your email, while your companion shops :)

Another example of Panama's connectedness to the rest of the globe via the net -> in Chiriqui: in Dolega (never heard of Dolega? It's on the road from David to Boquete and carnival is great there). Just up the street from the Plaza (facing the church) on the right-hand side, there is a cybercafe where you can rent videos, play videogames, make international phone calls and surf the net to your heart's content for $0.75 per hour. I've also seen cybercafés in Pedasi, Sona, Concepcion, El Volcan, etc. etc.
